Our team completed a two-visit squirrel removal project at a three-story detached home in Waterloo after the homeowner reported squirrel activity in the attic. Cause Analysis
Over time, deteriorated wooden trim and aging roofline components can develop openings large enough for squirrels to enter attic spaces. Once access is established, squirrels often reuse the same sheltered location for nesting. Securing all accessible openings after the animals have exited helps prevent recurring wildlife activity.
Treatment / Removal
During the first visit, Andrew confirmed active squirrel activity and installed a humane one-way door over the primary entry point, allowing the squirrels to leave without re-entering.
Additional exclusion work included:
- Installation of one one-way door over the main entry point.
- Sealing four soffit intersections with galvanized steel mesh.
- Sealing eight additional openings with galvanized steel mesh.
Exclusion & Repairs
After the homeowner confirmed that no further squirrel activity was being heard or observed, our team returned for the second visit. The one-way door was removed, the primary entry point was permanently sealed, and all exclusion work was inspected to verify that vulnerable openings remained protected.
